This vessel was constructed in Denmark in 1992 to offer a thrilling sailing experience. With a length of 37 feet, Luma is perfect for those who enjoy sailing with plenty of space for onboard living. The high-quality fiberglass hull ensures durability and strength while also keeping the boat lightweight. The deep keel design provides stability and keeps you on course even in rough waters. The spacious and well-designed cockpit area provides ample seating for the crew and guests.. Below deck, the boat features a comfortable living space with a large salon, well-equipped galley, and private sleeping quarters, ensuring a pleasant stay onboard.
We bought Luma in the summer of 2022 from a couple who sailed around the world with this boat from 2005-2009. The vessel was once able to go off-grid, but the instruments and the two solar panels that the boat currently has are no longer providing us with enough electricity. To enhance our off-grid experience, we are planning to upgrade the power system by adding more solar panels and a wind generator. We want to make Luma able to go off-grid for long periods of time, which will allow us to enjoy extended sailing trips while minimizing our impact on the environment.
We chose to name the boat Luma after Taletta's grandfather's old fishing vessel. Luma is a true symbol of tradition and sailing heritage, and we aim to carry on the legacy of the vessel. Luma is not just a boat to us; it is a part of our family and a vessel that we will cherish and care for as we sail the seas.
